Incremental encoders
Rotary Incremental Encoders control the position and the angular speed of mechanical axles in motion. They monitor the increase (variation) in respect to a position taken as a reference point. Incremental Encoders count the number of senses sent by the output circuit to detect rotation, speed, and acceleration, but the zero point must be reset at each new start.
Absolute encoders
Absolute Encoders offer a unique digital code for each distinct angle of the shaft, recording the value of the actual location and so preventing data loss in the event of a system restart or power outage. Single and multi turn encoders can use either an optical or an electromechanical operating principle, which offers a high resolution and is thus recommended for applications requiring more precision and accuracy.
Linear encoders
Rectilinear displacement measurements are tracked using linear transducers. A wire or a metallic layer wrapped in an insulating support and a moveable contact that shifts along the conductor make up a potentiometer. Calculating the variation in resistance caused by the relocation of the object in issue within the electric circuit is the operating principle.
Accessories
Eltra provides a wide selection of accessories to meet both general and particular application needs. These accessories, which perfectly complement the appropriate transducers, provide the foundation for a cost-effective system integration.
