Der Regler besteht aus einem thermischen Massendurchflussmesser, einem Präzisionsregelventil und einem mikroprozessorbasierten PID-Regler mit Signalwandler und digitalem Bus. Abhängig vom Sollwert stellt der Durchflussregler den gewünschten Durchfluss am Gerät ein. Der Massendurchfluss, ausgedrückt in Normallitern oder Millilitern pro Minute oder Stunde, wird als analoges oder digitales Signal (RS232 oder digitaler Bus) angezeigt.
